Sometimes, as a nurse, we get into routines at work that started out as ways to save time, but develop into bad habits if we let them. I feel like I’m stuck in this mode right now, and it’s going to take every ounce of energy to get back into those “good” habits. I need to get back to the basics of ALWAYS using aseptic technique and CONSISTENTLY doing bedside report. It’s the little things that add up to make us better as nurses and people. When I get into “crisis mode” it’s easy to let the little things slip, so I’m going to make an effort to really practice my good nursing habits and set a good example for others. Any thoughts?
