Fitness Apps

A great way to keep track of your workouts and calories is through various fitness apps. Our workplace encourages us to stay fit and gives us incentives if we use the Virgin Pulse app to track our steps. One great thing about the program is that you get a free pedometer when you sign up. The Virgin Pulse store also has other accessories that you can buy, but the free pedometer comes with a clip-on holder that works really well. This is offered through my employer and it’s a great benefit.

Apps can also help you to easily track your calories. I use the MyFitnessPal app to keep track my calories and have lost about 15 pounds since February. If you log in for so many days in a row, you get rewarded with $40 off at Some of my fellow nurse friends are doing The Color Run 5K in July, so I’ve started using the Couch to 5K app (C25K) to train. There are lots of great options out there to keep fit and stay motivated. Remember, as a nurse we need to care for ourselves so we can care for others. Make time for you today!
